Of Porcelain - You Are The Sun

I love the editing of this piece. I'm equally drawn to the music dubbed in this video and is credited to the band, Of Porcelain. It's downright amazing, a tranquil inducing vibe that resonates peacefully into my senses. There are, however, some nuances interrupting the stream of sonic bliss but it doesn't affect the relaxing sensation that overlaps any feeling of unease.

Super the movie

Apart from its amazing soundtracks, mostly done by Tyler Bates, "Super" turned out to be a fun movie to watch, that is, if you're into eccentric and AWKWARD action-quasi-comedy flicks.

The story revolves around a loser but a good guy turned masked vigilante after being convinced that it was what God wanted him to do. Divine intervention as you may call it, spurred him to fight crime. But ultimately, what drove him to this drastic shift in persona was his desire to save his wife who apparently left him for some mob boss. As the story develops, his lone ambition had attracted the attention of Libby who became his hyped up sidekick. Together they seek and acted upon injustice with a handful of hand-made weapons and guns at their disposal. As they managed to survive a few brushes with death in their fight against crime, their final mission was to infiltrate the mob boss' residence, wipe out the bad guys, and rescue his loved one. Sadly, it's not all glory for our protagonist in this film which I won't dive into detail here. And again, I'd like to stress how awesome the soundtrack is! Tyler Bates rules! rock! whatever!

Phoenix - Girlfriend

I bet astral travelers felt/hear this kind of vibration when they transcend into that so called astral plane. It's a happy, peaceful place and I bet this music is inspired from such a realm.

Phoenix - One Time Too Many

Simply a beautiful piece. Lovely.

Phoenix - 1901

The marriage of this choreographed freerun video and music goes hand in hand - in perfect harmony. Song's by Phoenix with the title 1901. Kinda like the hot dog franchise name. Hardly any semblance to the establishment, the title is suggestive of 19th century France where the band likened those days, in 1901, to better life. At least, it's what they imagined it would be.

Revamp on Education System

There is talks about a revamp on our existing Malaysian Education System in which a study (on what I don't know) will be completed by this year's end. You can read more about the announcement here. A total shift in direction on our education system reflects that it is flawed in so many ways, but no reports on the shortcomings has been shown. Though there have been many issues brought up in the media such as our nation's brain drain scenario, rise of unemployment and so on which all implies something troubling within the system.

This blog made a valid argument about the minister's novel decision and asked all the right questions which should be informed to the public so that we understand the gravity of the plight of our nation's people. We need to know how far lacking as far as our education is concerned compared to other neighboring countries as well as further abroad.

The Chemical Brothers - The Devil is in the Details

Hanna the movie led me to this song - a beautiful blend of instruments from different lands perhaps. It does have an eerie feel to it but its charms have more weight and appeal. I like it!

Asleep - Emily Browning

‘Asleep’ touches on despair reaching depths surpassing any means of redemption. While it seems tangential to people without a death wish, we can relate to it as it bears semblance to any lingering sadness left behind in memory. It revives nostalgic connotations of lament or regrets we have, into the present. And it makes us linger till the last note. It’s beautiful, sort of, in a nice and unfortunate way.
