Fusion Art Studio

Accessing from home is really slooooww. Macam siput babi yang mata terbalik cenkerang pecah, jalan terbalik. Now at my wife's parent's home it's okay. I got to download my brother's proposal on running a Capoeira class briefly and find it to be really good.

My brother, Danz, is heading his classes in Fusion Art Fitness Studio in Malacca. The name Fusion Art has been long present in our minds. I guess the name really stuck to him till now. It reflects well with the Studio concept which schedules mixed art disciplines. The business is a partnership between my brother and his Karate friend, Rayner, and maybe with another person too. It is located at the first floor of a shoplot at Sungai Udang zone. On ground level, is a saloon owned by Rayner, as I've heard... When not training, my bro took the time to learn about hairstyling techniques.

One thing that I really admire about the way he runs his fitness business is that part of the income made from membership fees will be donated to selected schools... That's hardcore social commitment.

This is my brother training in the studio when he just started out last year.

An idea forthcoming

My wife and I decided that every weekday morning we would go some place that we haven't been to, grab pictures and tell stories of what we observed on our blog. This way it keeps us preoccupied until 2pm where we begin our real business. We figure we could go to nearer destinations first before wandering further off. This also helps us save up on fuel. Speaking of which, we actually purchased a fuel saver apparatus from Edymium Network which claims of a 10%-22% reduction in fuel consumption. This is definitely what most people need right now given the 'hard to accept' fuel price hike ... However, I haven't fix these magnetic pieces around the fuel hose connecting the engine yet because I'm not sure where it is located ... :).

I think it's my cue to promote sikit2 ... ok, the fuel saver costs RM250 and it comes in a hard box. The contents are 5 pieces of magnetic fixtures that should be tied (using cable ties) onto the fuel inlet hose of any petrol or diesel engines. For easy reference, if the engine is less than 1000cc, fix 1 piece. 2000cc, fix 2 pcs. This means that if you have 2 cars both below 2000cc, it suffices if you purchase only 1 box. 4 fixtures for the cars and 1 for the gas cylinder used for cooking.

Interested? Leave a comment. Oh ya, my friend is courteous enough to design a poster/handout for me to promote the fuel saver. He says that he's received good responses and some led to sales ...

Edymium magnetic bracelets

Edymium bracelets have been popularized with the ingenious and timely advertising at the ASTRO AF reality show. Prior to this, it has been received well but the demands are little here ... Business has been brisk so far and with the establishment of Edymium Centre in KK, members are growing ...

For those unfamiliar, Edymium is a Multi Level Marketing company that sells various health products and accessories. The magnetic health bracelets being their flagship, and currently the hottest selling. It employs an easily understood and rewarding marketing plan. One of the good points is that maintaining monthly points is not compulsory to qualify for bonus. Membership fee is only a one time thing.

There are a list of ailments that these bracelets can help alleviate or reduce such as high blood, arthritis and more ... This method of therapy has been proven to be effective in restoring energy to the body and aid in certain health problems.

Price range from RM215-RM1530 depending on the materials used - Stainless Steel, Titanium and Tungsten. However, the materials of magnetic bracelets do not make them superior to another in terms of health benefits.

Here are some demo that can be carried out on friends/families/customers to prove its effectiveness. Imitations are vastly available in the market too, so beware. To discriminate fakes from authentic ones, you can perform any of the demo shown. Place the bracelets on the skin. If there is no immediate change, the bracelets function only as accessories and has no benefit to health.

Home-made lightbox

This is my first and only home made lightbox made out of bendable insulated wires, wooden blocks and rods, domestic light bulbs, white cloth and handmade cardboard light diffusers ... It was an experimental thing in learning photography.

A lightbox is used to photograph subjects, usually in plain background, where lights are placed at angles to get a certain desired lighting effect. Usually the desired effect would be diffused shadows of the subject, which enhances its characteristics and texture.

This method of taking photos is called tabletop photography. Here are some samples :

Defining Yourself

“Whatever does not spring from a man's free choice, or is only the result of instruction and guidance, does not enter into his very being, but still remains alien to his true nature; he does not perform it with truly human energies, but merely with mechanical exactness.” - Karl Wilhelm von Humboldt

As a reminder that we should choose to follow what draws us to true happiness, not be defined by some other people's version of our happiness. To truly be fulfilled this is the only way to live.
